Who is Jessica?
Jessica Nicholas is a professional dancer from Melbourne, Australia. She has over ten years experience in performing and choreographing variety of dance styles including Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre & Caberet, Hip Hop, Tap and Indian Contemporary.
As co-fonder of Melbourne based children’s theatre company SilverJay Productions, Jessica also has extensive experience in instructing beginners, children and professional performers both in Australia and India.
What is Contemporary:
Contemporary dance (also known as lyrical dance) is a modern dance form which fuses modern dance, jazz, ballet techniques with a certain degree of acting as the goal of the contemporary dance is to convey the emotion of a song’s lyrics through motion.
Contemporary dance is a combination of intricate, technical and naturalistic movements and is often characterized by continuing dance moves that connect throughout the dance, at times resembling traditional African dance forms. Classes are designed to introduce participants to Contemporary dance and provide some basic knowledge of the dance form. It’s great for any dancer looking to expand their dance knowledge or explore a new dance style.
