The Workshop
Freshly updated with a host of new dances from the U.S., Sandip Soparrkar will be conducting a fun-filled energetic workshop on the “West Coast Swing”.
Slower than the Jive and faster than the Rumba, the West Coast Swing hails from the Western Coast of the U.S. (currently the Official State Dance of California). It is characterized by the use of “compression and leverage”, a rubber-band-like movement between the partners that creates energy for multiple spins and fun passes.
More so than any other dance, movements here are created in relation to the sounds of the music, be they melodic, rhythmic, or vocal. These unique factors make it the quintessential party dance !
Time: 7.30 to 9.30 p.m.
Open to: All.
Partner: If you don’t have a partner along, you will be paired up with someone at the workshop itself.
Fee: Rs. 500 per person.
Enrollments: Please enroll with your fees of Rs. 500 in cash only
Advance enrollments:
1. With your respective instructors during your class hours
2. With our studio manager, Reesha Dhulap, at the Bandra class (St. Andrew’s College, St. Dominic Road, Bandra (W), Mumbai -50) on any Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday between 6.30 & 8.30 p.m.
On-the-spot enrollments:
3. At 7 p.m. sharp i.e. 30 minutes before the workshop begins at the venue itself.
Enrollments are currently on a strictly first-come-first-serve basis …..so hurry and book your place now !!
The Social
Continue the evening with great music; everything from Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba & Jive to Waltz, Tango, Fox Trot, Salsa, Merengue & more; specially choreographed Student Performances and most importantly more dancing.
