We are proud to present our very own “Dance Showcase & Competition 2009”….a night of glamour, fabulous performances and entertainment galore !
This dance extravaganza will be held
At: Kanara Catholic Association (KCA), Veronica Road, Off Varoda Road, Bandra (W), Mumbai-50.
On: Saturday, 21st November, 2009.
Time: 6.30 to 11.30 p.m. (Competition starts at 7.30 p.m. sharp).
Why a competition?
Competitive dancing has been greatly popularized by televisions shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing With the Stars & So You Think You Can Dance & movies such as Dance With Me & Shall We Dance.
No stranger to the competitions himself, Sandip Soparrkar has been regularly sending his talented students to compete at the Annual National DanceSport Championship to much acclaim. This year too our students are busy preparing for the upcoming 4th Annual National DanceSport Championship that will be held in November/December, 2009.
In particular, our star couple, Diago Pereira & Reesha Dhulap, who are also the current National Champions, have competed at International DanceSport Federation (IDSF) competitions that have been held at Hong Kong, Singapore & Sri Lanka to name a few & at the prestigious 2nd Asian Indoor Games in Macau in 2007. They will once again be representing our country at the 3rd Asian Indoor Games at Vietnam in the first week of November, 2009.
This current venture is for our students to compete a little closer to home !
The programme for the evening is as follows:
Dance rehearsal for all competitors.
Dance floor open to all guests.
The Competition: Our students will compete in different events and categories totally encompassing 10 dances viz. Rumba, Samba, Cha, Cha & Jive, Waltz, Fox Trot, Viennese Waltz & Tango, Cuban Salsa & Merengue.
Prize Distribution.
Dinner & Dancing for all !!
Judges: The competition will be judged by celebrities from the Dance, Film and Television world.
Want to compete ?
The competition is open only to S.S.B.S. students, past or present.
However, there will also be a surprise Jack & Jill dance event (nothing to do with the nursery rhyme 
) that you too can compete in…check with us on the day of the show at the venue itself for more details.
Tickets: Tickets, inclusive of a sumptuous dinner and soft-drinks, are priced at Rs. 1000 per person (cash only) and can be booked now:
