Creator of “Bringing Artists Together”
Linda Arkelian, the Ballet and Contemporary dance instructor at Drive Dance Centre has cultivated “BringingArtists Together”, a unique experience for the artistic community at Drive Dance Centre in the cultural heart of East Vancouver. After a career as a professional ballet dancer Linda found her greatest passion in teaching dance where she shares her understanding of all that is central to the humanexperience. This passion evolved into Linda’s on-going multi disciplinary project,”Bringing Artists Together”. Dancers in her ballet class become the inspiration for painters, sculptors, musicians, photographers and experimental film makers. Linda’s multi disciplinary project, “Bringing Artists Together”reflects its title. The inspiration flows both ways: from the dancers to the artists and then back again to the dancers. Her visiting guest artists make up an impressive collection of diverse talents. In 2010 the international Pechakucha movement, in recognition of this innovative artistic sharing, selected Linda to share her vision as a presenter at the Evergreen Cultural Centre.

Linda is an amazing dance instructor and person. She is just such a lovely spirit and encourages her students and just everyone she meets in life to be great.
If I had more time and no achilles tendon issues – I would love to be a student of hers…my daughter has taken a couple of contemporary dance classes with Linda.
Linda has cultivated dance in people who may not have even invisioned dancing in there lives! It does not matter your skill level…Linda knows how to bring the passion of dance out in everyone and it becomes a part of you!
